Four Wednesday evenings and you walk out wearing trousers you made!
We're sewing the Free-Range Slacks by Sew House Seven - high-waisted pull-on trousers with an elastic waist, deep front pockets and side panels. Choose the tapered leg or the straight cropped leg; add the back pockets or don't.
Week 1 - measuring honestly, choosing your size, tracing and cutting. Week 2 - pockets and side panels, the bit that makes them look bought. Week 3 - assembling the legs, and choosing your seam finished (French or flat-felled). Week 4 - waistband, elastic, hemming, and fitting on a live body!
Maker's Print Shop prints the PDF pattern large-format, one large-format printed pattern and instructions are provided for each students, as is the required amount of elastic. Shared tools and notions (irons/boards, scissors, etc.) are available to use.
You will need:
Roughly 2.5-3 m of bottom-weight fabric with drape - linen, cotton twill, Tencel twill, light-to-mid weight denim, and matching thread.
Where to get it:
Maker's Print Shop stocks fabric and thread. Registered students get 15% off. A full prep email will go out the day registration closes.
You should already:
Be able to thread a machine and sew a straight seam. Beginner Sewing on Sept. 27 counts.
